You'll always be a piece of me

This painting is based on the sin of “Envy”. The 6th sin depicted in my seven deadly sins series. Envy is often characterized as a resentful desire towards another person’s traits or possessions. This sin wants to deprive others of what they have, the opposite of charity. Through this artwork I wanted to channel the idea that envy comes from a sense of desiring self improvement. Envy is often born from feelings of incompleteness, imperfection and lack. The goal isn't to feel guilty about our envious views but rather understand what’s truly missing from our lives.
