7 Drums

This artwork was sculpted in VR in Adobe Medium live on stage at Artrageous with Partners in Art. 7 Drums represents our ancestors, our present self and future generations. The principle of 7 generations is Haudenosaunee law dating back centuries before colonization. It states that every decision must be made with the next 7 generations in mind. We are simultaneously the 7th generation and the first generation, we ask our ancestors for guidance and think to the future as we live our life in the present. For this reason, we do not over consume, we harvest mindfully and protect our sacred lands.
