The concept of "home" can be elusive. Most of my landscape paintings are entirely imaginary, yet many of them remind me of places I have lived or visited. Similarly, many of my imaginary portraits--usually of shamanistic figures-- seem to be faces that I may have once known. This work is a collage of six of my recent landscape paintings and one of a young man's profile, creating a composite of unreal things that nevertheless seem to have an internal consistency that I find to be very compelling. This is a fascinating new direction for me, and I look forward to watching this artistic vector evolve.
