April 8th, 2019, I stood on The World Photographic Cup podium in Draamen, Norway, next to legend photographers, and had a Bronze Medal placed around my neck for this image, Exsanguinate. It was a high that I wasn’t capable of feeling; 2 days before, I was told my mother had cancer. That trip was life changing, both professionally and personally, and this image represents that line in the sand, the before and the after, a beginning and an end.
