According to Carl Jung, we all have a desire for violence that society tries to suppress so that there is law and order in our cities. Jung believed that this was why modern man read crime thrillers and got excited about war, it was a way to get a taste of this forbidden fruit. Even today we enjoy violence in our entertainment, case and example being Squid Games where people are senselessly killed while competing in childish activities.
