This painting doesn't exist anymore. But the canvas it was painted on is in my studio collecting DATA. Parts of it are still in place. It started with a Mary carrying her child. That might have been somewhere in 2016. After that it transformed. I painted skulls from different Dutch Masters from the Golden Age. Added a touch of vaniTas to it. The piece itself is referring to the way we behave on social media and interact with one another. It's both beautiful and morbid at the same time. A blessing and a curse. The black mirror we're staring at hours on end. Recomposing ourselves from the comments of others. Data Junkies.
