WOKE

Being “woke” is, according to Merriam-Webster, “aware and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).” It is a fitting title for this piece that is full of symbolism that explores and highlights female empowerment and representation themes. The female figure represents all women, we don't know if she is black or white as it does not matter.  The hoodie is synonymous with the tech/men's work culture of the '90s and continues to be popular today. Women should be comfortable in their own skin, have dreams, and believe it is possible to obtain the highest office in the land, represented in the Sun and break the glass ceiling.
