Inspired by Holly, the protagonist of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, that wanted more out of her life and went out to find out exactly what her new life would consist of. Though it meant leaving loved ones and the responsibilities that life entailed, she loved herself enough to create a better life. Along the way, she lost herself in the standards of society, but through a lot of difficulties, she manages to find true meaning without losing her elegance and femininity that in this painting are represented not by the jewels she is wearing but by the freedom of the butterfly.
