In the past tense, home was always changing, fragmentary, becoming hazy & washed out in memory. Moving every couple of years infused a temporary sense of home, with the looming dread of economic insecurity, leading me to embrace the prevailing immateriality of digital media. In the present tense, my personal relationship to home has changed and grown as I develop, which is why this piece is going to change over time.
A performance with readymade birdhouses, recorded on a VHS camcorder, printed screenshots of footage with analog & digital print manipulations. Reflecting on ideas of nostalgia, memory, isolation and preservation.
