Adam Yauch, 'MCA,' Endfest, WA, 8/8/92

The Beastie Boys headlined local radio station KNND's all day festival at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds outside of Seattle. It was the first of it's kind, featuring the likes of L7, Mudhoney, and Sonic Youth as well. Only afterwards as they were being led around backstage, wide eyed and mute, did I learn the Beastie Boys had all dropped LSD before the show. And of course they had just killed it, seriously rocking out over 10,000 mostly hardcore grunge fans as only they could do, high or not. RIP Adam Yauch, another great musician and human being taken from this mortal coil far too soon. Om Mani Padme Hum.
