The House of the Eye is steeped in controversy, and often forced to make public apologies. Increasingly irrelevant, though powerful as ever, it’s one of the last great relics of our homeland. Its superstitions are taught as fact across our pedagogic academies, ensuring the people retain a knowledge at least (if not belief).
Politically, Lords of the Eye are the highest authority, except for the Qualats. This causes constant protests, staged by Manufacturing workers. The Industrial Town, Aiak’us stragglers and other assorted socialist thinkers regularly join these picket lines and hold up smog production.
The Eye itself is a coded deity, driven by a single prophecy:
