Lallubhai Compound Eviction #1, Mankhurd, Mumbai #1/3

The Lallubhai Compound is a resettlement area on the outskirts of Mumbai, it’s where the government puts people after demolishing their informal homes in other parts of the city. The compound itself is surrounded by informal settlements. One morning while scouting locations, I found a community that had just been demolished by the government. I made some photographs even though the light was poor, but I returned later that evening to make more photos at sunset. This photograph was taken from the roof of a nearby building.
