I have visited this place more times than I can count.
This place changed my life.
It told me I had to move west. So I did, and never looked back.
There was a gravity that pulled me to the Rockies a decade ago, and continues to bring me back year after year.
But this year, the smoke came as well, worse than I'd ever seen. Louise couldn't glimmer under the haze. She was beautiful, tranquil, but lost without light.
I stood there and appreciated her still, the mountains that framed her, this moment peacefully enshrouded in chaos.
And then, just like that, the sky split open and the sun cut through the haze. Louise shone in a way I'd never seen her shine before.
