Eyes are the windows of truth. They covey out deepest thoughts and emotions. They can be the start of conflict or the source of love.
This piece was an enjoyable exploration in to creating skin textures using my reverse drawing technique. A layer of colour was put down followed by the black charcoal layer and smoothed over. Then with broad, free stokes and cross hatching using only a putty rubber I etched back through the pastels towards the paper beneath. The deep back shadows are what is left on the page. About 12 hours of work went into creating Saw.
Soft pastel and charcoal on paper.
