Double Vision is a collaborative collection where Lindsay Overbey and I make art from a passage from literature that we alternate in choosing. We each create just half of the artwork and we do so blindly, much like in the creation of an Exquisite Corpse drawing. The halves are compiled digitally and then we each work the piece as a whole until the image is resolved.
For Total Obsession we chose a passage written by Don DeLillo in the novel Libra. DeLillo wrote, " Whatever you set your mind to, your personal total obsession, this is what kills you. Poetry kills you if you're a poet, and so on. People choose their death whether they know it or not."
