Beautiful yet disturbing, this hand drawn and painted iconic image of Elvis’s disembodied head floats in the clouds, seemingly as if he has been decapitated and ascended to heaven in saintdom. Additionally I’ve added collage from my various collections reflecting Indian film culture; the massive Bollywood factory where everything is larger than life; sets are overripe extravaganzas, emotions are overblown, myths are made real and entertainment industry figures literally become Gods. It celebrates the baroque; over-the-top visuals like the movie industry was ordered on a course of heavy steroids by a studio GP.
