Flora Solaris V

Exploring the concept of extraterrestrial life forms with artificial neural networks. Evanescent flowers vanish and transform into each other without following our earthly rules. In a different universe, under a different sun, the flora shines in the radioactive light. The visuals were generated by training a Generative Adversarial Network on a collection of 3078 macro photographs of flowers shot in May through July 2021. The images were all custom processed with hue and solarization effects. This work is a collaboration between photographer Janie Fitzgerald and AI artist Ivona Tau. AI-augmented photography 2021
