RISE

This edition was created for 'Love Mandela', an NFT collection created in collaboration with House of Mandela and featuring original artwork drawn by Nelson Mandela in 2003 as part of his Symbols Series. It draws inspiration from South African symbology, from the secretary bird standing for protection and pride, to the protea flower symbolising diversity and courage, all values that Mandela fought for throughout his life. The composition evokes the phoenix rising from the ashes, again symbolic of Mandela’s journey. Proceeds from this collection will contribute to the construction and development of the Nelson Mandela Memorial Garden in his hometown of Qunu, South Africa.
