Woke up, body aching in a hospital bed Had a big swollen bump on the side of my head How did I get here? I really couldn’t recall Did I get in an accident or have a terrible fall? Then it came flooding back; all of it, almost — That it wasn’t my fault I walked into a lamp post! I was on my way to an important meeting In a rush as always because time is so fleeting Then across the street, I spotted coming in my direction A pretty lady that immediately caught my attention Easy on the eyes and too cute not to notice She might have caused a little misfocus Head turned, I couldn’t see the lamp post drawing near And bang!
