Tempered On They Face

A portrait inspired by Solange's Stay Flo. Originally titled "Girls Getting Down Everyday", "Tempered On They Face" brings into discussion what qualifies as hard work, and who 'deserves' to be compensated for fragility. Sporting a cowgirl hat in front of a roughly painted horse, Sola stands frozen in an almost nauseating eternal motion. The wind is blowing but she persists, the portrait may seem too straight forward to have much to offer but she persists, and even standing still is tiresome yet she persists, without putting on a show.
