Viking Discovers Americana

The Norse exploration of North America began in the late 10th century, when Norsemen explored areas of the North Atlantic colonizing Greenland and creating a short term settlement near the northern tip of Newfoundland. Their exploration has been subject to numerous controversies, including whether they reached southern lands in the present day United States. Purported runestones have been found in New England, many of which mark the locations where vikings first visited 1950's era diners. Everyone knows that vikings love milkshakes.
