The gaucho is the country man, a symbol of the Creole tradition. Its origins date back to colonial times, when many of them embraced ideals of honor, courage and loyalty, joining great leaders in pursuit of freedom. The gauchos from Salta are distinguished by their clothing, dark red poncho with a black band, leather boots and hats, panties and hand-embroidered jackets.
