The cop pursued the thief with great haste,
Through alleys dark and streets wide and chaste,
The thief sprinted with all his might,
Hoping to escape from the cop's sight.
But the cop was clever and quick,
He knew every trick in the thief's book,
He cornered the thief in an empty lot,
And said with a stern voice, "You're caught!"
The thief knew it was the end of his run,
He put his hands up, and said, "I'm done."
The cop smiled and gave a pat on his back,
"You had a good try, but crime doesn't pay, Jack."
