Perched up in the Palos Verdes Hills is a vantage that stretches from the South Bay to LA where you can catch planes flying over the Los Angeles skyline en route to LAX. One a rare clear day right after a storm, the lower elevation peaks of the San Gabriel Mountains can catch a fresh dusting of snow. Telephoto compression makes it seem as if the city skyline is nestled up to the mountains when in reality they are over 15 miles apart. Conditions and visibility like this only come around once every few years.
