Niccolo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469 - 1527) was an Italian Renaissance philosopher who majorly considered himself as diplomat and author. He is famous for his account of 1513 treaties known as The Prince, which argues on how politics should look like and how people should rule. What’s most prominent about his ideology is how he urged rulers to be ruthless if they needed to be and thus the term Machiavellian is applied to this advice.
