Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (1883 - 1945) was an Italian politician and journalist who founded and led the National Fascist Party. He started as a revolutionary who aimed to cater the inequalities in the Italian peninsula. However, not long after he forged the paramilitary fascist movement and from there moved on become the prime minister. In his attempt to re-establish Italy as a great European nation, he allied with Nazi Germany in the Second World War and attempted to carve out an Italian Empire in the Balkans, North Africa and East Africa.
