Beancoppa live high up in the Benni hills grazing on small pebbles and grit. They have a wonderful summer plumage which is removed yearly by the shepherds that look after these amazing creatures. Their feather-like plumage is used by the more wealthy inhabitants of Ahseed to decorate their clothing, especially their hats. Wild beancoppas have recently become more urbanised and moved on to the edges of the beach settlements. They often jump on the heads of wealthy tourists trying to mate with hats decorated in beancoppa plumage. Quite a sight and certainly more traumatic than some seagulls stealing your chips!
