The inception of this collection sprouted from a simple question: how do the dolls we relate to as children correlate to the fixations and followings of our adult years? Did Malibu Barbie grow up to be Kylie, while Strawberry Shortcake became Lena Dunham? I don’t have authority to weigh in personally, but while running along the Silverlake reservoir I began to question the idea of dolls and assimilation.
