The Pleiades

The Matariki, The Seven Sisters, The Pleiades or the Subaru are just a few of the names this historically renowned star cluster is known by. It's been watching over humans, guiding our way in the night since the dawn of civilisation and it will continue to do so for aeons to come. Unreachable, untouchable and beautiful. This image was shot using a backyard telescope and a monochrome astro camera using separate RGB filters.
