BioAugments are considered horrific monstrosities by many cultures, as they integrate biological material with artificial. The LI require this form of augment so they can have the most effective surveillance for the Tangle, as Bios gave them the ability to identify those that naturally access the Tangle without the assistance of technology from the Lixua Intelligence. Bioaugments can sense unauthorized biological use of the Tangle as if each one is a pluck on the string of an instrument; the Bios just follow the vibrations.
