Waste

The Wastes can refer to the unconfirmed plane of existence that is between known reality and the Tangle but it can also refer to the shadows that are rumored to reside there. It is reported that no living thing can survive within the Wastes but legends and mythologies across the galaxy claim otherwise. It is commonly understood that without the LI's technology taming it, those who try to harness the Tangle on their own have their lives quickly extinguished. They are burnt up where they stand due to the raw and unfettered energy they are accessing. But energy never dies, it just transforms.
