"Moonlight" by Oty - Edition of 15
This single photograph contains around 80,000 individual frames or 300GB of the moon that were shot through a telescope during the First Quarter phase and then blended with a Waning Gibbous phase to give the shadow effect.
The moon's surface has many craters, all of which were formed by impacts. There are currently 9,173 recognised craters ranging from just a few km in diameter to 2,500 km wide.
22nd January marked the beginning of the new lunar year whose months follow the moon cycles. 2023 is the year of the rabbit which symbolises peace and prosperity and is predicted to be a year of hope.
