45 miles of pristine trails, 12,000 feet of elevation gain, one cold creek crossing, hours in pouring rain, and one of the most rewarding adventures I've experienced to date.
In August 2021, my friend David and I set out on one of the heftiest trails in the entire North Cascades. The first day, we arrived to the trail head in the pouring rain, fog swirling around the looming peaks, and nothing but pure stoke and excitement for what we were about to embark upon. We both move fairly quickly in the mountains and decided it would be best if we trail ran the entirety of the trail (21 miles) in order to make it to the lakes before sunset.
