The Beautiful Mundane is the genesis collection by I Must Draw.  The work explores ordinary moments re-imagined in a blaze of colour and pattern. Partly autobiographical, the digital works were inspired by the term hapa girl which was a working title. As someone who belongs to this group, you are always straddling two cultures never fully belonging in one or the other. Throughout these images the female figure fully occupies these semi-real and imagined spaces and her cultural identity is left for the viewer to decipher. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I loved creating them.
