Extra Content 3 of Drop #5, Madame Zborowska. Chaim Soutine. The relationship that binds Modigliani to Hanka's husband is not just commercial. In fact, before moving to his last studio in rue de la Grande Chaumière, the painter visited the Zborowski house every day to paint in the dining room, the largest room in the house. There he paints many of the portraits from 1916-17 and a series of nudes from 1917-18. One day, to spite Mrs. Zborowski, Modigliani paints on the door of the room the portrait of Chaim Soutine, a Russian painter who is a friend of Modigliani who, however, Hanka cannot stand.
