This was taken in 2016 in Sicily on the only father and son trip I ever had with my dad, who then passed away a few years later. Castellamare Del Golfo: My mom is Sicilian and although they left Sicily when she was young to head north due to lack of financial opportunity, we trace our roots to this area and more specifically Alcamo Marina (a stones throw from here) This image captured everything Sicily was about, the Italian spirit of perseverance.
