WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE LARGE JAR, salt-glazed, "10" gallon capacity, cylindrical form with heavy beaded neck ring, arched handles, and collared, flat-top, rounded rim, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "A. CONRAD. / SHINNSTON, / W. VA.", additional stenciled cornucopias within lettering, flanked by daisies, stars, and wheat-like ornaments, brushed cobalt stripe at collar and surrounding handle terminals. Circa 1890.
