FREDERICK CO., MARYLAND WINDSOR SIDE CHAIR, hickory, poplar, and maple, shaped crest above seven spindles and unusual heart-shaped plank seat with hollow below the pommel, raised on well-turned splayed legs and bulbous H-form stretcher. Leg tenons secured in the plank seat by pins driven from the seat bottom. Old dry black-painted surface. Fourth quarter 18th century.
