Emma Hardy is a self-taught portrait & documentary photographer based in London. She works in close collaboration with her subjects, offering a tender & honest gaze.
Neither intruder nor witness, she is more like “a participant with a camera", endeavouring to capture "subtlety and the sweet human-ness of the indecisive moment”.
One of her first solo exhibitions, “Exceptional Youth”, at the National Portrait Gallery in London, established her as a photographer making "naturally lit and extraordinarily confident work, capturing intense connections with her sitters.”
She is currently working on a book of her family images, to be published later this year by Gost.
