Unimaginable Lands

There are places in this world that defy explanation. The mixture of colorful clay and mudstone under some of the harshest conditions have formed shapes and patterns of undulating beauty. It was my first visit to this particular area of Death Valley National Park. After hiking and exploring to get the lay of the land, I returned early morning to capture this scene at dawn. I climbed solo to a predetermined peak and had the entire expanse to myself. The sunrise was beautiful but for me it was most important to showcase this unique terrain in all its splendor.
