The real challenge of this piece was to fight against myself. It's a fight against the imposter syndrome, the anxiety to finish it and my dangerous obsession with detail.
"The Race" alludes to how the artistic process works sometimes. You, competing with yourself regardless of the environment.
When it comes to creating art, we always consume it, sometimes excessively, and it can overwhelm us. We like everything we see, we begin to obsess over artists, colors, shapes and strokes.
"The Race" is against ourselves. The only way to elevate our art is to surpass the artist we are today. We will decide the environment in which we will do it.
