Sunset hope

The late yellow day-lily burns in the early summer sunset. The day-lily is a member of the lily family that blooms when the sun is setting. It has beautiful lemon yellow flowers with a refreshing summer scent. Near where I live, there is a terraced rice field that still exists as one of the original landscapes of Japan. There used to be many day-lilies growing wild there, but due to environmental changes and management problems, the number is decreasing every year.
