Gennoshoko is a perennial herb native to Japan that blooms from summer to autumn.
It is one of the three major folk medicines in Japan and has been
valued since the Edo period (1603-1867), and was given the name "gen-no-sho" ("actual evidence") because of its immediate effect when taken.
