Sir Shred-A-Lot

During the crusades, early skateboard prototypes were developed to maneuver between watch points on castle walls with greater ease. Those that utilized this new technology were better able to dodge incoming arrows, impress the maidens, and avoid siege. The sport of skateboarding tricks—including the "ollie"—was first developed at this time.
