Cm

curium (Cm), a synthetic chemical element of the actinoid series of the periodic table, atomic number 96. Corium is used to generate heat and power in satellites or remote locations. It was first synthesized in 1944 at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1946, Glenn Seaborg, the synthesizer of this element, named it after the French scientists, Pierre and Marie Curie.
