In European folklore, the Lamia were called witches, succubus demons who appeared as seductively beautiful women. They seduced young men. As soon as the men's strength was exhausted in debauchery, the Lamia would drink their blood and devour their flesh.
The Lamia lived in the thicket of the forests and, like all witches, could fly.
