The Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral (standing for Our Lady of Paris) stole the “most visited place in Paris” title from the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in the few past years. Building the Notre-Dame took around 182 years and was completed in 1345. Being the official seat for the Archbishop of Paris, it is styled in iconic gothic architecture, surrounded by tall-standing towers and mesmerizing stained glass windows. The Notre Dame has had its share of damage through the centuries. The most recent is the destructive fire it suffered from in 2019, leaving the cathedral under reconstruction and making it witness the longest closure it has ever experienced.
