It was one screen (or maybe four or five screens) and your avatar---sometimes just a DOT, like in Adventure for Atari 2600---climbed around fighting creatures and/or trying to get away! Those games (on Atari, Odyssey, Intellivision, Apple II, Commodore 64, Vectrex, Colecovision, and countless early arcade machines) all influenced my artistic aesthetic in unfathomable ways...
