Gradient Transmission - Massimo Magee

A visual digital art piece by Massimo Magee. Two squares of different colour gradients were converted into sound and played back through speakers either side of a stereo microphone. This was recorded and then converted back into an image, recombined with some of the original colour data. We are only just beginning to grasp the possibilities of true digital abstraction freed from the desire to simulate physical materials.
