The Island

A physical representation of the isolation of pain from chronic illness. Created by /PetraA a disabled artist with Behcet's disease to capture her experience as the island of her life breaks away and slowly shrinks due to deteriorating health. Artist statement - "It's like you're being buried alive but someone had the sadistic mind to throw you breathing tube" This is how my husband described the last year of my life last night.
